About The Event

Application for tickets is via Regimental Associations.  The Royal British Legion has nominated our Association Office as the registration point for our Association members, and former members of the  Rifles, Light Infantry, and KOYLI veterans from our area to apply for tickets to participate in the parade.  We have to provide the RBL with an estimate of the number of places we would like for eligible members at this year's Cenotaph Parade by Friday 5 May 2023.

IMPORTANT NOTE - The Association will upload your details to the RBL database.  The RBL will email individuals at the email address you provided.  Individuals are responsible for completing all actions detailed in the email.  Failure to comply with the RBL email will result in no ticket being issued to the individual 

ELIGIBILITY

Associations are asked to prioritise individuals who adequately reflect the depth and breadth of the veteran community with priority given to:

  • Ex-service personnel and civilians from the UK and the Commonwealth who have served the Crown.
  • Wives, husbands, or civil partners of those who died as a result of their service in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
  • A      carer of a veteran requiring wheelchair assistance.

Please note, this is a veterans’ parade, therefore Armed Forces personnel are not permitted to take part. Civilians cannot take part unless they meet the eligibility criteria above.

As any carer accompanying a veteran will be included within the 10,000 attendance cap; where appropriate, the option of one veteran assisting another for the duration of the dispersal should be considered.

IMPORTANT DATES

5 May

All association initial applications to be submitted. Any applications received after this date will not be accepted.

25 May

RBL to confirm 2023 ticket allocation to each association. Registration opens.

25 August

Deadline for associations to complete individual participant information. Registration closes.

1 September

Registration opens for non-association veterans.

29 September (latest)

Registration closes for non-association veterans (or once capacity has been reached).

30-31 October

E-tickets and joining instructions sent to participants.

The office is generally unmanned as there is no Internet, landline or answer machine.  The Association Secretary visits the office twice a week to collect the mail and for any pre-arranged appointments.  The Association Secretary can be contacted on the mobile number or by email.
