Austin Batley late KOYLI


Today Pete Bate and I had the honour of attending as the sole Regimental representatives at the funeral of Austin Batley late KOYLI. Austin passed away on 25 Oct 16 aged 78. Austin's coffin was carried into Wakefield Crematorium by family members including Austin's grandsons and granddaughter.

Austin served his National Service with the KOYLI in Aden, Cyprus and Germany during. After leaving the Army Austin did various jobs before starting his own successful business.

Pete and I thank the Austin's family for the welcome they gave both of us.

The thoughts and condolences of the Regimental Association members are with Austin's family and friends at this sad time. As the bugles sound No more Parades, stand easy Austin your duty done. RIP Austin.

The office is generally unmanned as there is no Internet, landline or answer machine.  The Association Secretary visits the office twice a week to collect the mail and for any pre-arranged appointments.  The Association Secretary can be contacted on the mobile number or by email.
