Maj C A L YATE VC Stone Unveiling Ceremony

7 Association members and the County Secretary made the journey to Madeley near Telford to take part in the unveiling ceremony of the centenary stone for Major CAL Yate VC KOYLI. The ceremony took place in the town's newly renovated memorial garden. Our Association members were joined by local KSLI, LI & Rifles Standard Bearers and Association members, the Mayoress of Madeley and members of the towns council.

Our thanks to the Mayoress of Madeley, the town council and the citizens of Madeley for honoring one of our VC heroes and for making us so welcome and their hospitality.

On the way back to Yorkshire we called in at Shrewsbury for a visit to the Regimental Museum. We were welcomed by the staff including John "Fred" Taylor ex 2LI.

Thank you to those members of our association, especially Ron Lowerson who travelled down from Middlesborough, that supported the Association in making the journey to honour the memory of Maj CAL Yate VC.
