KOYLI Memorial Statue - The Project Begins

On Tuesday 6th December, Chairman of the Appeal Committee, Major Dave Wroe accompanied by Appeal Donations Co-ordinator Percy Potts and Mr Paul Wray, a former Mayor of Doncaster, and presently holding the post of Doncaster Council Armed Forces Champion, visited the workshop and foundry of Steve Winterburn near Hull.

The purpose of the visit was to hand over a cheque in order to begin production of the Memorial. Paul Wray was hugely impressed by the scale model and he is 100% behind the project.

The next stage in production will be to model a full sized statue from which a cast will be made, then the Bronze parts of the statue will be cast in Steve's foundry at Yorkshire Fine Arts. We will keep you up to date as the process continues.
