3 Rifles, D (Rifles) Coy supported by The Band and Bugles of The Rifles, LI Buglers Association and E (Rifles) Coy ACF will be conducting a series of events between 26th and 29th April.
The three events that are most of interest to The Association are:
Presentation Parade Doncaster 27th Apr. There will be a short parade in front of The Casting at Waterdale at which the Regimental Colour of 4th Bn KOYLI will be presented to the Borough. An enclosure will be set aside exclusively for Association members and their families to watch the parade. The parade will march on at 10 30 hrs.
Sounding Retreat Pontefract 27th Apr. The Band and Bugles will Sound Retreat at Minden House. This ceremony will be preceded by a reception. Dress will be lounge suite or regimental blazer. Ladies cocktail dress. Reception commences at 18 30hrs. Places are available to attend on a first come first served basis. Branch members should apply via their branch, none branch members directly to the Association Secretary. There will be no admittance to anyone not on the guest list.
Freedom of Dewsbury 29th Apr. The Association will be on parade along with Regular and Reserve soldiers and Cadets to exercise the Freedom of Dewsbury. It is likely that this parade will also incorporate the unveiling of two VC Centenary Stones. Anyone who wishes to take part should notify the Chairman of Branches either via Branch Secretaries or the Association Secretary by 3rd Apr. The outline timings of the event are 10.00 – 1230hrs.
