Armed Forces Day Leeds 2017 - Association Members on Parade

West Leeds Branch Members at AFD Leeds 2017

Armed Forces Day Leeds 2017 was a great success and a day Leeds said thank you to all veterans and currently serving members of all our armed forces and the wives and children that support us.

Maxine and Colin were joined by members of West Leeds Branch of the Association. They staffed the Association gazebo throughout the entire day and marched in the parade of veterans and for the first time 2 Association Standards were carried in the Parade of Standards. My thanks to those members of West Leeds Branch for their support in raising the profile of the Association in Leeds.

I must also mention the Lord Mayor of Leeds, members of the council, officials and volunteers for a well organised event. Above all thank you to citizens of Leeds and surrounding areas for the warm welcome you gave to those who served and those who are currently serving. To all those members of the public that visited our Association gazebo to speak with the members, ask about relatives that served with KOYLI, LI and Rifles.
