Sjt Maurice Lucas late 1LI

Light Infantry Cap Badge

We have learnt that Sjt Maurice Lucas passed away suddenly on 24 Oct 17 age 66. We send our sincere condolences to Maurice's family and friends at this immensely sad time.

RIP Maurice your duty done join your brothers in arms in the final RV.

Maurice was from 1LI and also spent time as a Recruiting Sjt at the Army Careers Information Office Wakefield. It was here that I first met Maurice when I was detached to the office as a "Satisfied Soldier". Maurice and I became good friends; he was a guest at my wedding. RIP in peace friend.

A Poppy Cross for Maurice was placed in the Light Infantry plot, on Thursday 9 Nov, at the Open of the Field of Remembrance by the Association members on behalf of the Family.
