Branches honour the Fallen on Armistice Day at the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month

Pontefract, Wakefield and West Leeds Branches of the Association took part in Armistice Day Parades and Services.
Wakefield Branch Standard and branch members took part in the Armistice Day Parade in the Ridings Centre Wakefield on Saturday 11th Nov 17. Tim Humphreys carrying the Branch Standard joined Royal British Legion, other Associations Standard Bearers while Branch members joined with civil uniformed services.
Members of West Leeds Branch joined the Association President, Major Andrew Penny, Chairman of Pontefract Branch, Major Derek Searby and Association Secretary, Colin Cranswick, at the Royal Armouries Leeds for a moving Armistice Day Service. Last Post and Reveille echoed around the Armouries played by Lt Div and Rifles Veteran Buglers Association member Craig Rosser. as Poppy petals fell from the galleries above. During the day and on Remembrance Sunday the Armouries held various actor led demonstrations to commemorate Passchendaele. While in an exhibition of War Art the Durham Light Infantry was the focus with numerous pictures painted by DLI soldiers.
