Centenary Remembrance Weekend

Featherstone War Horse

During the Centenary Remembrance Weekend, we remembered those men, women and boys who ‘gave their todays for our tomorrows’. We especially remembered our own from the KOYLI, LI and Rifles who during two World Wars and subsequent operational tours made the ultimate sacrifice.

Now that this year’s commemorations are over I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Association and Branch members for representing our Association during the very busy period in the cities, towns and villages not only across Yorkshire but also around the Country.

It would be only right to single out two groups for special mention. The Veteran Buglers and our Standard Bearers who represented the Association at over 25 events and gained recognition for the Association in local and national media. Between them they have represented the Association and the Rifles at events as diverse as Cockburn School in Leeds and the Tower of London.

Finally, I would like to thank all the families of Association members for their enduring support and endless patience.

A photo album of the weekends events can be found here in the photo albums section of the Association website
