Bandsman Alan Rackstraw late 2 LI Band

We sadly announce that Bandsman Alan Rackstraw late of 2 LI Band passed away on 5 March 2019 in Hertfordshire. Alan originally from the North East enlisted into the Light Infantry as a musician. Following his training at the Light Infantry School of Music he was posted to 2 LI Band. Alan served in Colchester, Lemgo, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and Blackpool.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Alan's only family, his sister June. RIP Alan your duty done take your place in the final Massed Band with friends Sid and Yorkie.

June would be grateful for the attendance of any former Band and Bugle members at the funeral. Other than his sister Alan has no family of his own and only a few friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Date and Time - 18 March 2019 at 4pm

Location - Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium, Hertford Road, Hoddesdon, Herts, EN11 9BN

Bugler Requested - Yes

The office is generally unmanned as there is no Internet, landline or answer machine.  The Association Secretary visits the office twice a week to collect the mail and for any pre-arranged appointments.  The Association Secretary can be contacted on the mobile number or by email.
