Christmas Greetings and Artwork Sale Rifleman (Cpl) Martin Edwards 5 Rifles

Updated: Apr 28, 2020

Cpl Martin 'Ed' Edwards and Sally Mendonca

We received the Christmas message and poster below from an inspirational Rifleman, Cpl Martin 'Ed' Edwards 5 Rifles. Martin is a talented artist and is selling prints of a couple of his paintings to help fund some of the activities he enjoys as part of his rehab. If you are able to please support Martin.

We send seasons greetings to Martin from all members of the Rifles, Light Infantry and KOYLI Association.

I’m just getting in touch to say I hope you have a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS 2019!

I haven’t even thought about putting up a Christmas tree, writing cards or writing to Santa with a list. However, I am sure that some of you are already organised and have made your own mince pies and started rehearsing for your solo in the local Christmas Carol concert…..

Some of you may still be on the lookout for a Christmas present for someone special….or you may even feel moved to get one of these (see poster images below), just for you…..

I think a few of you know that, whilst working for Help for Heroes, I met a seriously injured RIFLES veteran, Ed, about 6 years ago. I still see him regularly and take him sit-skiing at a local indoor ski slope once a month. We have also had some fun at a few concerts this year, Snow Patrol, Rita Ora and Little Mix; Ed loves music. Ed also enjoys painting and we started his ‘artwork project’ to share some of his paintings, give him something to be involved in and to save some ‘pocket money’ towards activities he enjoys….

I hope you find the attached poster interesting…and if you are able/would like to order anything, please just let me know. Please also feel free to share the info with your friends and family!
