Buglers and Standard Bearers Honoured by the Mayor of Wakefield

On Tuesday 24 October 2023, the Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield hosted a civic reception to thank some of the buglers from Minden House Bugles and Association Standard Bearers from our Association, Leeds Rifles, and Royal Yorkshire Regiment for their support to the City and the wider veterans community.

During the reception, the Mayor of Wakefield, Councillor Josie Pritchard, presented Certificates of Recognition to Buglers and our Association Standard Bearers Kev Fawcett, Pete Bate, Steve Tagg, Brian Johnson, Stephen Hobson, Colin Cranswick, Tim Humphreys, and Ady Waites.

Colin Cranswick presented the Mayor with a 51st/105th The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry commemorative plate on behalf of our Association.

Later in the day the buglers and Standard Bearers joined the Mayor and the Mayoress Consort Councillor Melanie Jones, the leader of Wakefield MDC, and the council Armed Forces Champion to officially launch the Poppy Appeal in the City.
