Fred Adamson KOYLI veteran and Legion d’honneur recipient celebrated today his 102nd birthday on 15 Nov in Regimental style.
Last year Covid-19 restrictions prevented the Association from giving Fred a full Regimental birthday greeting. This year we were able to correct that with the help of Buglers from the Minden House Bugles and a Standard Bearer.
Buglers from Minden House Bugles; Kev Fawcett, Pete Bate, Steve Tagg, Brian Johnson, and Paul Schofield a Yorkshire Volunteers Drummer along with Standard Bearer Colin Cranswick surprised Fred with the special birthday greeting in the garden of his Conisborough home. As Fred appeared in his garden accompanied by Fred's son and grandson the Buglers sounded Lucknow and Colin presented Fred with a birthday card from Lt Col. (Retd) Graham Whitmore, the Vice President of the Association, and all members of the Association.
Please join the Association in wishing Fred a happy birthday who at 102 we believe is the oldest surviving KOYLI ex-serviceman. Fred still attends major Association events such as this years Minden events in Doncaster and the Rifles, Light Infantry, and KOYLI Regimental Memorial Service in York Minster.
