It is with great sadness that we inform all members of the Association and the ROC that Lt Col (Retd) Michael George Elcomb a former KOYLI and LI Officer died peacefully in his sleep on 22 January 2022 aged 101.
Mike, as he was known in the Regiment, had a long and distinguished career and was hugely respected by all ranks. While serving with the KOYLI Mike saw action during the Second World War in Malta, Sicily and Germany and in North Africa, where he was wounded. He was Commanding Officer of the Light Infantry Depot in Shrewsbury.
The thoughts of all members of the Association and the ROC are with Mike's family and many friends

Location: St Mary's Church, Codford, Wiltshire, BA12 0PJ. Please Note: the family have advised that parking is very limited in Church Lane, it is suggested that you park on the High Street and walk the 200 yards to the church.

Mike's family have requested donations in Mike's name to the The Alzheimer's Society & King Edward VII Hospital
Anyone wishing to send cards or letters of condolence is requested to send them to the Rifles Regional Office at Minden House marked FAO family of Mike Elcomb. Office staff will then forward them to the family.
