Major (Retd) Gerald Martin is to be cremated at an unattended Cremation being held on Weds next week in Scarborough. The funeral director has requested for an veterans in the Scarborough area would like to line the route as the Gentleman goes in.
We are informed that there are no family members so the council are cremating him.
If any Association members would be willing to attend the funeral details are:
Wednesday 31st August 2022
Woodlands Crematorium, Scarborough at 8.45am.
The cortège will be there at about 8.35 am, veterans are requested to be there by 08:15hrs to line the route.
The Funeral Director's have stated they will drape a Union Jack over his Coffin and put a Poppy Wreath on top to pay there Respects.
