Mr Bernard Martin Woods - Late KOYLI

It is with great sadness that I have to inform members that Mr Bernard Martin Woods late KOYLI, died on 09 June 2022 aged 86.

Bernard joined the KOYLI as a National Serviceman. Following his is National Service he joined the Royal Mail as a Postal Worker. Bernard was a very active member of Wakefield Branch and a great supporter of the Association as a whole. Bernard read the citation of the VC recipients at the unveiling of the centenary stones during the Rifles freedom of Dewsbury in 2017 and in 2018 read the names of the KOYLI fallen during the unveiling of the new memorial in Dewsbury cemetery. His passing is a great loss to Wakefield branch and the Association.

Our thoughts and condolences at the sad time are with Bernard's family, and his many friends in the Association.

As the bugle sounds 'No More Parades' and you take your place in the FRV,

your duty done with honour and distinction.

Rest in Peace Bernard.

Cede Nullis.
