Mr Michael Joseph Wood - Late 3LI


It is with great sadness that I have to inform members that Mr Michael Joseph Wood passed away on 08 September 2022 aged 70.


Michael, enlisted into The Light Infantry and after completing his training was posted to 3rd Battalion The Light Infantry. Rising to Serjeant he became the Provo Serjeant.



Our thoughts and condolences at the sad time are with Michael's family, and his friends.

 

As the bugle sounds 'No More Parades' and you take your place in the FRV,

Rest in Peace Michael.

  • Date and time: 30 Sep 22 at 1230 hrs

  • Location: Dewsbury Crematorium, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, W13 3PL

  • Funeral Director: George Brooke Funeral 14 Sharp Street Dewsbury Wf13 1QZ. Telephone 01924-454476

  • Donations in Lieu of Flowers are request to Wheatfields Hospice Yorkshire Cancer Research in Michael's name.

  • Association members are invited to attend the funeral and the Wake.

Anyone wishing to send cards or letters of condolence is requested to send them to the Rifles Regional Office at Minden House marked FAO family of Mr Michael J Wood. Office staff will then forward them to the family.
