SCAM WARNING

- 1 min read

We have been contacted by the family of a KOYLI to notify us that their relative has been contacted by someone purporting to be from the Association. The caller stated that former members of the KOYLI could be entitled to a large payout. THIS IS BOGUS.
The scammer must have had information about the veteran concerned, as they knew he had served with the KOYLI. Therefore, assume they may have access to the Regiment you served with.
We are checking our data systems for any data breaches. Be aware that numerous websites have veteran service details. Please be cautious.
Anyone receiving such a call is strongly advised not to give out personal or financial information. You are strongly advised to report any such call to Action Fraud using the link Action Fraud.
If you do receive any such call, it would be appreciated if you would also notify the Association Secretary so that a case can be opened with the Police.
