Unveiling of the Pidmore Memorial Plaque in Sheffield 10 Nov 23

Pte John Thomas Pridmore and Sgt Arthur Edward Pridmore were both 2nd Bn of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and were killed in action four days apart in October 1914. Their brothers, Pte Albert Pridmore of the York & Lancaster Regt, and Lt George Harry Pridmore of the West Yorkshire Regt died in 1917 and 1918, respectively.

In recognition of the sacrifice of the Pridmore family, Sheffield City Council is to install a memorial plaque at Sheffield Midland railway station on Fri 10 Nov 2023 at 14:00hrs.

Dignitaries in attendance will include the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for South Yorkshire, as well as descendants of the Pridmore brothers. Standard Bearers from The KOYLI Light Infantry and Rifles Association and PWO Association will be on parade along with Buglers from Minden House Buglers.

Association members are welcome to attend but should note that there are no parking concessions and the event is organised by Sheffield Council and not by our Association
