Wakefield Civic Parade and Service 9 Oct 21

Wakefield's first civic parade in since the pandemic was held in on Saturday 9 October 21.

Standard Bearers from the Royal British Legion and our Association led the Mayor of Wakefield, the Mayors from surrounding districts, Civic dignitaries, representatives from the Ambulance service, Fire and Rescue, and the Police, and community organisations, on a parade through the city centre to the Cathedral for a service before marching back to the Town Hall.

Carrying the Standards of the KOYLI, LI, and the Rifles our Standard Bearers; Tim Humphreys, Rob Smith, and Colin Cranswick were the only military association Standard Bearers on parade.

Also in the parade representing veterans were Stuart Anderson KRRC/RGJ and KOYLI Peter (apologies his surname slips my memory). Thank you to each of them for representing The Rifles, the Forming and Antecedent Regiments in one of our Freedom Towns.
